OMFPOA Executive would like to thank everyone who responded to our survey. With this information we are better able to provide more of what our members are looking for. We asked about virtual training sessions, and one of the training topics that was requested was NFPA 96 – Commercial Cooking Systems.

We are pleased to announce a virtual educations presentation by CFPO Gary Laframboise, covering kitchen suppression systems dealing specifically with NFPA 96: Standard for Ventilation Control and Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking Operations.

Gary Laframboise has over 30 years of experience in the fire protection field and is currently the Chief Fire Prevention Officer with the Oakville Fire Department. During his time with the Oakville Fire department, he has been involved with Fire and Building Code enforcement, Fire investigations, public education and building permit reviews. He is a certified Fire Prevention Officer in the Province of Ontario and as well as a certified Fire and Life Safety Educator. Prior to joining the Oakville Fire Department in 1996 he was a Certified Fire Alarm Technician with a fire protection company and was involved with fire alarm, sprinkler, and special extinguishing systems. He is a graduate of the Fire Protection Engineering Technology program from Seneca College.
