The Ontario Fire College is revamping the NFPA 1031-I course into a blended version.
As part of that process the team working on the course is developing several practical exercises. In the online portion of the course there will be at least two “simulated” inspection type case study assignments. To improve the student experience, they are requesting assistance from our stakeholders.
Both compliant and non-compliant photos are welcome. If you have before and after photos (non-compliance vs compliance) that would be very beneficial to the students in the course.
If any department has non-identifiable photos of any of the topics below that they are willing to share with the team for possible use in the course, it would be appreciated. Credit will be given to the fire department for any photos received.

Assembly occupancy:
1. Exit blocked by a dining table
2. Poorly maintained commercial kitchen hood and suppression system(s)
3. Poor housekeeping (e.g. grease on floor/walls etc.)
4. Occupant load posting signage
5. Missing/poorly maintained portable extinguishers
6. Portable fire extinguisher on cart or table where flaming meal or drink is being served (OFC Div. B Sentences 2.4.4.2.(2)-(4))
7. Questionable interior finishes (paneling etc.)
8. Venue tents (e.g. liquor license applications)
9. Other photos that show fire code related items (compliant and non-compliant)

F2 (medium hazard industrial – automotive repair shop):
10. Improper storage of incidental amounts of flammable liquids/combustible liquids
11. Hot works (welding/cutting) near combustibles
12. Poorly maintained oxy/acetylene equipment
13. Missing portable fire extinguishers
14. Poor housekeeping (refuse storage, combustible accumulations etc.)
15. Means of egress obstructed by equipment
16. Fixed fire protection systems (good and bad photos)
17. Ignition sources
18. Tire storage (small amounts)

General:
20. Missing caps from FDC’s
21. Obstructed FDC’s
22. Obstructed hydrants
23. Obstructed fire department access route
24. Chained exit doors
25. Obstructed means of egress (interior and exterior)
26. Slide bolt locks or more than one operating mechanism on an exit door
27. Poorly maintained exit signage
28. Wedged/propped open fire separation doors
