Good Morning;

In June 2015, Grimsby Fire Department (GFD), the Ontario Fire College (OFC) and the OFMEM Academic Standards & Evaluations (AS&E) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding for the direct delivery of OFC courses through the Grimsby Regional Training Centre.  Based on the GFD belief that fire prevention is the future of our industry, our course offerings will focus on developing the training facility as a centre of prevention excellence.  Beyond the bricks and mortar of traditional fire towers, our preliminary designs are including classroom space and fire prevention lab to replicate the OFC facility.   Although the completion of the facility is not anticipated late 2016, we are very pleased to announce that we have confirmed the following immediate course offerings:

  •  NFPA 1035 Life Safety & Public Educator I – 16 – 4 G           – November 23-25, 2015
  • Fire Code Div B PT 2 & 6-15-7 G                                                  – November 2-6, 2015

I ask that for your assistance spreading the wording about these initial offerings and the creation of this fire prevention training initiative by forwarding message to your respective memberships.  Limited space is available.  More information is available on our registration web page at: http://www.grimsby.ca/Fire-Services/Regional-Training-Centre/.
