Dear Members

The OMFPOA (Ontario Municipal Fire Prevention Officers Association) Executive Officers are continuously working hard to ensure that our members concerns and needs are being met. Over the years we have strived to address the many issues we are faced with on a day-to-day basis along with the struggles and challenges Fire Prevention Officers are dealt with. As the elected Executive, we continue to place our members first and give back where we can in addition to the other various ongoing efforts.

In 2014, we introduced the ā€œAnnual OMFPOA Symposium Sponsorship Program.Ā  Since then several members have had the privilege of receiving this sponsorship which has allowed them to attend the annual symposium free of charge. With the ongoing objective of ā€œgiving back to our membersā€, the OMFPOA Executive would like to introduce the ā€œFire Prevention and Public Education Grantā€.

The objective of the ā€œFire Prevention and Public Education Grantā€ is to donate three $500.00 grants to 3 (three) fire departments in good standing with the OMFPOA. Successful applicants will receive the grant in and or around June 2021. The grant money awarded to the Fire Department is intended to be used solely for a fire prevention and public education initiative and/or program. Furthermore, it will allow the selected fire departments to create new programs and or enhance current programs within their community.

The OMFPOA Executive encourages you to take advantage of this grant opportunity. We would like to assist the membership with its ongoing efforts toward ā€œPublic Education and Fire Preventionā€. The grant application will be reviewed by the OMFPOA Executive and once selected, the grant money will be presented at the Annual Training and Education Symposium.
