CREATING SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT THAT ENTERTAINS AND IS IMPACTFUL

 

Cory Armstrong-Smith is the Fire Prevention Officer for Norfolk County Fire Department. Cory began his prevention career with the Burlington Fire Department in 2014 before moving back home to Norfolk in 2020.
In 2025 Cory received the Al Suleman Award from the OMFPOA for #NCFireBricks, his creative social media campaign to address fire safety.

 

 

Michael Atkins is currently a fire prevention officer and social media administrator for Welland Fire and Emergency Services.

In 2023 he received gold level recognition from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) for “Individual Achievement – Social Media Messaging.” He has over 25 years of experience in fire safety education.

 

“This session will discuss the value of utilizing creative social media messaging to effectively reach the modern audience. It will discuss important points such as the need to identify your target audience, creating content  that is relative to your target audience, tools you will need to create content, and how to work with corporate leadership to allow out of the box thinking when producing social media content.”
