The Township Of West Lincoln is seeking a highly motivated and visionary leader to fill the vacant position of Deputy Fire Chief (DFC) (includes /Fire Prevention Officer and Assistant Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC). The successful candidate will work with a volunteer fire service, comprised of two stations with a compliment of 45 firefighters.

This position is key in the administration of the Fire Department and will act as Fire Chief during his absence.  This position will coordinate the development of the Fire Prevention Division as well as play a key role in the supervision of firefighters.   The DFC will manage and oversee the training division to ensure adequate training and skill development and the apparatus and equipment division to ensure that preventative maintenance is organized and undertaken. The expertise of the DFC/FPO will be called upon to respond to emergency calls, investigate fires, and act as the alternate Community Emergency Management Coordinator and be a member of the Township of West Lincoln’s Health and Safety Committee.  The successful candidate must possess a good understanding of policies, regulations, acts, and guidelines relating to Fire Services as well as have strong leadership, communication and administrative skills and the ability to plan, organize and coordinate and work in a team environment.  The DFC/FPO must participate in a rotational weekend on-call schedule.

Qualifications include successful completion of a post-secondary degree in a related discipline, and formal training/education in Administration and/or Management as well as successful completion of Ontario Fire College Company Officer Diploma, Fire Protection Technology Diploma or equivalent.   A minimum of seven (7) years progressive fire service experience, including at least five (5) years of experience as an officer in the fire service is required.

The Township of West Lincoln offers a solid benefits package.  This is a permanent full-time position with a salary range of $65,554 – $81,943.  Interested applicants are invited to submit a letter of application outlining their qualifications and experience, as well as a detailed resume by no later than Friday, July 20th, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. to the attention of:
