Mr. Scott Pugsley currently serves as a full-time Professor and the Industry Coordinator for the School of Fire Protection Engineering Technology, within the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering Technology at Seneca College.

Scott has been involved in the fire protection industry for over 29 years. He holds a NICET level IV certification in Water-Based Fire Protection Systems Layout, 427A certificate with the Ontario College of Trades and a formal education from Seneca College’s Fire Protection Engineering Technology program with Honours.

Currently he is involved in several different national and international professional committees within the fire protection community, including the CFSA as their current Past-President, CFAA as the Ontario Chapter Vice-President and seven different UL/ULC STP’s. He is an approved Instructor for NFPA (13/25) and also provides keynote, guest speaker and custom seminars on various fire protection and life safety subjects.

In 2022, Scott was the Seneca College nominee for the Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICAN) Leadership Excellence Award for Faculty. In 2017, he was selected to receive the Outstanding Educator Award from Ontario Association Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologist (OACETT). In 2016, The School of Fire Protection was selected to be the Fire Protection Contractors Magazines “Association of the year” a first for any higher education institution in North America.
