Lydia has been a Fire Prevention Officer with Kitchener Fire since 2019. After spending 11 years as an operational firefighter Lydia fulfilled a childhood dream to become an FPO. Lydia is grateful to have had the experience as an operational firefighter, however prevention and education is her passion.

During her time in the fire service Lydia has achieved a Master in Public Administration from Western University, an Emergency Management Certification from Ryerson and Diversity and Inclusion Education through Centennial College.

Lydia sits on the board of Fire Service Women Ontario, raises puppies for Dog Guides Canada and likes chilling with her Great Dane Winston.
