Fire Investigation

The fire service in Ontario is mandated to determine the origin and cause of fires. The results of our investigations assist us in identifying trends which are used in the development of Building and Fire Codes, Public Education and Fire Prevention initiatives. Typically fire investigation is a part of the Fire Prevention Officers role, however in larger urban centers some departments have dedicated Fire Investigators.
