Jason joined the fire department in 2000 as a volunteer firefighter, and later moved up the ranks to various positions within the fire department.  Jason started in fire prevention in 2009, as a part time Fire Prevention Officer/Public Educator progressing to full time Fire Prevention Officer.

For the past 9 years, Jason has held the rank of Deputy Fire Chief, full time and is now over seeing the Community Risk Reduction Division for Centre Wellington Fire Rescue. He has certifications from the Ontario Fire College with diplomas as a Fire Prevention Officer, Company Officer.  Other certifications include Fire Inspector level 2, Fire Investigator, Fire Officer level 4, Fire Instructor level 2, Public Fire and Life Safety Educator, Public Information Officer. Also completing management courses at Humber Fire Service Executive Management, Dalhousie Fire Service Leadership, EMO – Community Emergency Management Coordinator. Throughout his career, community and fire fighter safety is his priority. Jason is very passionate when it comes to fire safety education as it plays a vital role in safeguarding lives, property, and communities from the devastating consequences of fires and other hazards. By raising awareness, providing practical knowledge, and promoting preparedness, it contributes to a safer and more resilient society. Jason also sits at the table for the OAFC Prevention & Public Education Committee, is a director for the Ontario Association of Fire Educators (OAFE).

Jason is married with five children. He is avid Philatelist, likes to travel and is a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He enjoys puttering in the garden and growing many types of fruits, vegetables and enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
