    Greetings,
Not your circus, not your Monkeys comes to mind. Have they consulted an engineer to design something that will do the job on the correct scale? Its my experience of wood shops that there is always combustible materials piled throughout the work area. If the place can afford the new expensive system it would lead me to believe that they are only getting busier and the dust production will increase along with the hazard.
I would put it back to the operator to have the system engineered. I have seen stand alone trailers that are parked beside the building and the collection system is integrated into the trailer along with the suppression system. Just a thought, if its a trailer it may get by site plan.

    Greetings,

Even if we implemented a standard practice of dispatch making radio contact at a prescribed time interval to the investigator as a means of checking in on the worker. As it is not an emergency scene the OHSA applies and there is provisions in it for working alone. After the investigation, where are you placing your gear and equipment? In your vehicle or sealed up in say a tote bin until it is cleaned? What about HCN and CO detection on the investigator during the investigation. It really is time to place some hard and fast standards in what we do.

    Greetings Tom,

That is awesome that you have that in place, as we know the time to act is critical just as the time to detect it is as well.

    Thanks for sharing,
    Duncan

    Hi Keith,
So what would you consider this, a separation or a closure?
Use closure maintenance requirements to test check inspect?
