We have been successful in a Fire Safety Commission hearing in a similar situation (six storey non-combustible, unsprinklered condo building) with the Commission up holding our Order to remove the combustible furniture from the means of egress, and more recently we had OFMEM uphold another order to remove combustible furniture (and more) from a means of egress/lobby/exit in a retirement home.
We have allowed solid wood furniture with out any cushions in the latter case.
