Greetings to all fire departments,

We are North Star Fireworks Entertainment.  Many of you have reviewed and approved our fireworks display permits over the years.  Due to the popularity of our online fireworks licensing courses, we have scheduled our next one for Saturday, November 28, 2020.

As a refresher, we are certified by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) to provide the Display Fireworks Safety and Legal Awareness Course.  Traditionally, this was the one-day course where we teach the principles of operating a safe fireworks display.  At the end of the course, attendees who successfully pass the written exam become federally-licensed apprentices who are able to work on professional fireworks displays with us!  Given physical distancing protocols, NRCan has authorised us to offer this course online, allowing participants to earn their fireworks licence from the comfort of their homes.

Fire departments are often keen on attending this course in order to bring their staff up to speed on how fireworks displays operate; indeed, many municipalities have their firefighters shoot the local Canada Day shows, so it just makes sense to get them licensed.  This also allows motivated individuals to gain enough experience to become supervisors for other shows that we book, and eventually shoot their own private shows.

We are currently offering the course for $99 + HST per student.  If you are interested in registering, please email training@northstar-fireworks.com, or visit our website for more information: https://northstar-fireworks.com/training/
