Mississauga Fire & Emergency Services

I am the Supervisor of the Plans Examination group at the City of Mississauga Fire & Emergency Services.

I have been employed in the fire protection and life safety industry since 1996.  The first seven were spent working in sprinkler contracting firms with all but one year spent south of the border.

After coming back to Canada, I spent 12 years working for a fire protection  engineering firm called Randal Brown & Associates (RBA): A firm that got involved in pretty much anything and everything related to fire protection and life safety.

After my time at RBA, it was time to move on which lead me to Mississauga Fire & Emergency Services.

Other committee work that I’m involved with in addition to the OMFPOA includes:  the NFPA 14 Technical Committee on Standpipes (since 2007), a somewhat formal group of plans examiners (both building and fire) from places West of Toronto (we get together for quarterly meetings to discuss issues that arise during the permit submission stages of a project), and sitting as an observer with the National Research Council of Canada Fire Flow Task Group.
