Hi Everyone:

As you have likely seen, there are increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases in Ontario, and the Government has moved to lock down the Toronto/Peel areas to try to curb the spread of the virus. As ESA takes the safety of its inspectors and the general public seriously, ESA will be pausing ElecCheck inspections (inspections to fulfill Fire Code Section 9.8 requirements) in areas of the Province that have moved to the “Lockdown – Grey” level.

Here are the particulars:
• New Requests For ElecChecks: ESA will not be accepting new requests for ElecChecks at this time in any region.

• ElecChecks Already in Our System:
• In Lockdown regions (Toronto and Peel, at this time) – ESA will contact those who have applied for ElecCheck inspections, that have not yet been serviced, and cancel those notifications with a refund.
• In non-Lockdown regions, ElecChecks that are already in the system in areas that have not moved to the “Lockdown – Grey” level can continue. They will be serviced by ESA Inspectors as per recent guidance (visual inspection only, not the full ElecCheck process).

As this is a fluid situation, ESA will keep you posted on updates accordingly.
