On November 21, 2024, the Fort Erie Volunteer Fire Fighters Association was honoured with the prestigious YMCA Canada Peace Medal. This award recognizes individuals and organizations who demonstrate in their lives and activities the values expressed by PEACE (participation, empathy, advocacy, community, empowerment). The Ontario Municipal Fire Prevention Officer’s Association offers its admiration and congratulations to the association for this well-deserved recognition.

The Fort Erie Volunteer Fire Fighters Association has consistently demonstrated its commitment to their community.  Their proactive approach to fire prevention includes organizing workshops and programs at schools and community centers.  Their efforts have fostered a culture of awareness and preparedness.  By equipping residents with the knowledge and tools to prevent and respond appropriately to emergencies they have contributed to the reduction of risk and protected lives and property. The association’s impact isn’t limited to formal programs, members participate in charity drives, community clean-ups, and local events solidifying their role as champions of peace and goodwill.

Their ability to balance the demands of the job with their commitment to their community speaks to their dedication. Congratulations Fort Erie Volunteer Fire Fighters Association!
