David, you can find lots of policies regarding smudging online particularly University or Colleges. I have some links and documents i can send you if you want. We do spiritual smudging at home and although it does produce significant smoke, I haven’t set off any alarms (yes, they do work!). Like I said, there is lots online and they are pretty much all the same. We have a fairly large Metis and First Nations population so smudging is something that goes on all the time. Sorry I do not have any first hand experience with Agni practices.
Denis
Denis MauriceParticipantThanks Paul. So your by-law would only inspect those requiring a license correct?
Denis MauriceParticipantThanks for the feedback Robert
Denis MauriceParticipantGreat and thanks for the link Darren!
Denis MauriceParticipantThanks Karen. Do you also enforce that provision of the by-law or is it you municipal law enforcement?
Denis MauriceParticipantThanks Scott. That’s good. We only license occupancies selling food!
Denis MauriceParticipantThanks Randy. Can I download a copy of the by-law from somewhere? I looked it up and all I could find is a Q&A type page.
Denis MauriceParticipantThanks Daniel. I appreciate the response.
Denis MauriceParticipantIn the new Amendment 1 of the CAN/ULC S524 06 from February 2011 section 4.7.2 the amended code states the following ” Visible signal devices used to advise occupants that a fire emergency exists shall be turned off automatically when audible signals are silenced and shall be turned on automatically when audible signals are reactivated”
Denis MauriceParticipantThank you Daniel. I will certainly check it out!
Denis MauriceParticipantMerci Robert, I appreciate the assistance!
