9.5 stairway fire separation

Hello and thank you for taking time to read my inquiry.
Building is a two stories flat roof 5 unit with a shared stairway for 2 upper units and 2 ground main floor units.
Assuming lath and plaster walls and ceilings fire separation.
Would the ceiling fire separation integrity be greatly affected after roof leak on 2nd floor landing, swelling and cracks can be observed at the ceiling, plaster is still holding in place. Is the ceiling in the stairway even considered as fire separation between dwelling? Can I request repair under 2.2.2.1

Hello Patrick,
By the information above I would say yes that the swelling and cracks have effected the integrity of the fire separation and yes you can apply 2.2.2.1. OFC. If the stairway separation integrity is lost it could allow smoke and flames to penetrate the adjacent apartments via open ceiling joints.
