Delbert Blakney has been a member of the fire service for 30 years, 15 years as a volunteer firefighter/captain in Kingston, 15 years as a career Fire Inspector for the City of Kingston.  Delbert holds a Fire Prevention Officer Diploma and Fire & Life Safety Educator Diploma from the Ontario Fire College and has studied Human Resources Management, Occupational Health and Safety and Public Administration through St. Lawrence College and Ryerson University.  Delbert’s functional responsibilities include public education, fire inspection and code enforcement, fire investigation and plans examination/building code inspections as a certified Building Code Inspector.  Delbert is Chair of the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Counties Fire Prevention Committee, Vice-Chair of Community Response to Neighbourhood Concerns and has been on the OMFPOA executive for 5 years.
