I have been asked by a owner of a building (2 storey, 5 apartments) if he can replace his hard-wired, interconnected smoke alarms with wireless, interconnected, battery operated smoke alarms.

OFM says you can’t replace hard-wired with battery units (reduced level of protection). Do you think replacing interconnected hard wired with interconnected battery operated units reduces the level of protection??

      Thanks!
