Finally we have a chance to have our voice recognized in ensuring that Fire Prevention Officers health and safety is recognized at the Ministry of Labour Section 21 Committee. While this is still in the preliminary stages we are excited with the opportunity and encourage all members to voice any concerns or changes they would like to see in regards to Fire Prevention Officer health and safety. As an example, hazards while entering hoarding situations, marihuana grow-ops, the serving of summonsโ€™ and so on. The Executive Committee has worked hard to ensure this will happen and will continue to work hard at the committee table to ensure all concerns are heard. If you have a health and safety concern affecting Fire Prevention Officers, please forward your concern to the Executive through the OMFPOA website.
