The section 21 guidance notes provide some good details regarding precautions for working alone. I am hoping that there may be a policy that a department may have in place already that covers the whole section of 5.2. Windsor does have radio procedures in place and GPS on vehicles. As you are aware, the bigger cities are seeing a rise in the interaction between fire prevention officers and people with mental health illness.
Does anyone have current procedures that address FPOs working in pairs for safety reasons?

Good Morning…… In the city of Mississauga, when dealing with residential inspections/complaints, it is our policy to attend in pairs….

I believe Brampton also has a policy, like Mississauga, about working in pairs for residential inspections or when you feel it is warranted.
