Is there a better way to report defective devices to Health Canada than thru their own page? I’ve tried a couple of times and it’s painfully slow and I give up.  There’s got to be a better way.

I’ve got 3 ‘Universal’ brand CO / Natural Gas detectors on my desk that I’ve removed from 3 separate residences that all have scorch marks on the top vent port that I want to report. June/Sept/Nov 2012 manufacturing dates

      Good morning Jon,

I don’t know if there is a different reporting procedure.

I am interested to know who the testing agency was? CAN/UL? You may want to notify them and also the Electrical Safety Authority.

I have had a couple of instances now of owners buying CO alarms online not tested by any registered testing agency like CAN/UL. Obviously I had them remove the units immediately and purchase real ones.

      Thanks Jon,

      Joe Gardiner, North Bay

      Jon

You could try the local ESA inspector

I communicated with ESA, October of 2018 and that time the local inspector had the issue taken over by ESA Product Safety division.
