Responses below….

Do you have acting positions in prevention? – yes as per our collective agreement. Acting must be appointed when supervisor is scheduled off for more than one consecutive days.
Who is eligible for these positions, prerequisites etc. ? – Must have 7 years experience in FPO role.
What situation(s) have the acting assuming the role of their acting rank? – Where decisions are required by the Chief Fire Official.
Do you have a qualifying list? – All persons with greater than 7 years are offered acting in a rotation.

Advantages:
– department staff know who to contact for issues when CFPO is away.
– provides an opportunity for staff development.
– frees up senior management from having to deal with day to day prevention items during CFPO absence.
