Dear Members;

The OMFPOA (Ontario Municipal Fire Prevention Officers Association) Executive Officers are continuously working hard to ensure that our members concerns and needs are being met. Over the years we have strived to address the many issues we are faced with on a day-to-day basis along with the struggles and challenges Fire Prevention Officers are dealt with. As the elected Executive we continue to place our members first, and give back where we can in addition to the other various ongoing efforts.

In 2014 we introduced the “Annual OMFPOA Symposium Sponsorship Program”, since then several members have had the privilege of receiving this sponsorship which has allowed them to attend the annual symposium free of charge. With the ongoing objective of “giving back to our members”, the OMFPOA Executive will continue to promote and allow for applications toward the “Fire Prevention and Public Education Grant”. We are also very please to announce that we have increased this grant from $500.00 to $1000.00!

The objective of the “Fire Prevention and Public Education Grant” is to donate three (3) $1000.00 grants to three (3) fire departments in good standing with the OMFPOA. Successful applicants will receive the grant at the 2022 OMFPOA Annual Training and Education Symposium. The grant money awarded to the Fire Department is intended to be used solely for a fire prevention and public education initiative and or program. Furthermore, it will allow the selected fire departments to create new programs and or enhance current programs within their community.

The OMFPOA Executive encourages you to take advantage of this grant opportunity. We would like to assist the membership with its ongoing efforts toward “Public Education and Fire Prevention”. The OMFPOA Executive will review the grant application and once selected the grant money will be presented at the 2022 Annual Training and Education Symposium.
